1. Transportation is your main role
2. Ensure your student has a life jacket and sunscreen
3. Most sailors wear old sneakers on the boats (bare feet = bad)
4. Parents tow boat trailers to away regattas (if you don’t know anything about towing, don’t worry about it)

6. One of the biggest races of the year is held in Long Beach January 6/7 called the Rose Bowl Regatta (sponsored by USC)
and is combined with college racing. Colleges do presentations about their school at dinner
7. Parents are welcome to hang out at the yacht clubs during regattas and ABYC during practices (nice views)
8. ABYC is a special place for sailors for sailors worldwide with lots of racing in numerous types of sailboats all year long!
We have many former & current Olympian members, several trained for Paris. LA’28 is 3 years away!
9. If your student has interest in the program, speak with the Sailing Director or Head Coach about how to register.
10. Alamitos Bay Yacht Club in Long Beach is our partner is this, they own the boats and provide the coaches.
11. Youth are welcome to sign up for other classes in Lasers, C420's and younger siblings in Optis and Sabots or join as a youth member!
